Meta-Burn EF
Meta-Burn EF is the "next generation" (Ephedrine Free) thermogenic formula that has been precisely bioengineered to increase fat loss, supercharge energy levels, control food cravings and maintain lean muscle mass. Synephrine is a potent metabolic manipulator that puts the body into fat burning overdrive without the shakes (normally found with thermogenic products). Green tea (natural source of caffeine) along with naringin and potassium phosphate further supercharge ones fat burning ability. Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA) is known as a powerful nutrient that helps reduce food cravings, while chromium and alpha-lipoic acid supports optimal glucose uptake to reduce additional fat build up.
What sets Meta-Burn EF aside form all other "fat loss" products is a unique herb called Coleus Forskohlii, that has shown in clinical investigations to promote lean body mass and increase fat loss.

Diary Of An Unfit Woman
Dear Diary,
For my birthday this year, my husband (the dear) purchased a week of personal training at the local health club for me. Although I am still in great shape since playing on my high school softball team, I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and give it a try. I called the club and made my reservations with the personal trainer, Bruce, who identified himself as a 26 year old aerobics instructor and model for athletic clothing and swim wear. My husband seemed pleased with my enthusiasm to get started.
The club encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress.
MONDAY
Started my day at 6:00am. Tough to get out of bed, but found it was well worth it when I arrived at the health club to find Bruce waiting for me. He is something of a Greek God - with blond hair, dancing eyes and a dazzling white smile. Woo Hoo!! Bruce gave me a tour and showed me the machines. He took my pulse after five minutes on the treadmill. He was alarmed that my pulse was so fast, but I attribute it to standing next to him in his Lycra aerobic outfit. I enjoyed watching the skilful way in which he conducted his aerobics class. I did my sit-ups, although my gut was already aching from holding it in the whole time he was around. This is going to be a FANTASTIC week!!
TUESDAY
I drank a whole pot of coffee, but I finally made it out the door. Bruce made me lie on my back and push a heavy iron bar into the air - then he put weights on it! My legs were a little wobbly on the treadmill, but made the full mile. Bruce's rewarding smile made it all worthwhile. I feel GREAT!! It's a whole new life for me.
WEDNESDAY
The only way I can brush my teeth is by laying the toothbrush on the counter, leaning down and moving my mouth back and forth over it. I believe I have a hernia in both pectorals. Driving was OK as long as I didn't try to steer or stop. I parked on top of a GEO in the club parking lot. Bruce was impatient with me, insisting that my screams bothered other club members. His voice is a little too perky for early in the morning and when he scolds, he gets this nasally whine that is VERY annoying. My chest hurt when I got on the treadmill, so Bruce put me on the stair monster. Why the hell would anyone invent a machine to simulate an activity rendered obsolete by elevators? Bruce told me it would help me get in shape and enjoy life. He said some other shit too.
THURSDAY
Bruce was waiting for me with his vampire-like teeth exposed as his thin, cruel lips were pulled back in a full snarl. I couldn't help being a half an hour late; it took me that long to tie my shoes. Bruce took me to work out with dumb bells. When he was not looking, I ran and hid in the men's room. He sent Lars to find me, then, as punishment, put me on the rowing machine - which I sank.
FRIDAY
I hate that bastard Bruce more than any human being has ever hated any other human being in the history of the world. Stupid, skinny, anaemic, little cheerleader. If there was a part of my body I could move without unbearable pain, I would beat him with it. Bruce wanted me to work on my triceps. I don't have any triceps! And if he didn't want dents in the floor, he shouldn't have handed me the frickin barbells or anything that weighed more than a sandwich. Didn't they teach him that at the sadist school he attended and graduated magna cum laude from. The treadmill flung me off and I landed on a health and nutrition teacher. Why couldn't it have been someone softer, like the drama coach or the choir director?
SATURDAY
Bruce left a message on my answering machine in his grating, shrilly voice wondering why I did not show up today. Just hearing him made me want to smash the machine into the wall. However, I lacked the strength to even use the TV remote and ended up catching eleven straight hours of the damn Weather Channel.
SUNDAY
I'm having the Church van pick me up for services today so I can go to and thank GOD that this week is over. I will also pray that next year my husband (the BASTARD) will choose a gift for me that is fun - like a root canal or a hysterectomy!
Consistent, daily glutamine supplementation is the key.
by Paul Cribb, B.H.Sci HMS
AST Director of Research
Without a doubt, glutamine is one of the most important supplements an athlete can use. Glutamine supplementation enhances health and improves athletic performance by accelerating recovery. However, this research showed that a large, one-time dose of glutamine does not immediately enhance weight lifting performance.
During repetitive, intense contractions hydrogen ion concentrations increase in working muscle, this decreases pH and causes fatigue. Some researchers have speculated that a high dose of glutamine before training may buffer this accumulation of ions and allow for a greater work capacity before fatigue sets in. This intense short-term, high performance aspect is important for athletes such as bodybuilders.
The purpose of this investigation was to study the effects of one-time, high-dose glutamine ingestion on weight lifting performance in resistance-trained men. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover study, six resistance-trained men performed weightlifting exercises after ingesting glutamine or glycine (0.3-grams per kilogram) mixed with a calorie-free fruit drink. Each subject underwent three treatments in a randomized order. One hour after ingestion, subjects performed four sets of exercise to momentary muscular failure (2 sets of leg presses at 200% of body weight, 2 sets of bench presses at 100% of body weight). There were no differences in the average number of maximal repetitions performed in the leg press or bench press exercises performed by the bodybuilders, indicating that the one-time ingestion of glutamine does not provide an immediate increase weightlifting performance.
Athletes should not look to glutamine as a supplement that directly enhances performance like Dymetadrine Xtreme or Micronized creatine. Glutamine is a key component of optimum nutrition that builds a premium body. Apart from maintaining and increasing protein synthesis rates in muscle cells, glutamine maintains optimal immune function and enhances the detoxification ability of vital organs such as the liver.
Glutamine has recently been shown to enhance muscle glycogen stores, providing more energy for athletes on calorie-restricted diets. Glutamine supplementation also maintains high levels of glutathione - our body's most important antioxidant. Glutamine supplementation optimizes the health of the entire intestinal tract and enhances the ability to absorb vital nutrients and prevent bacterial translocation and infection. No matter how excellent your nutrition, if your absorption capabilities are poor you'll never reach your potential in health or sport.
Glutamine is an important supplement for maximizing muscular growth and health. Make sure you use it daily to fully maximize your potential.

The Simpsons Television Show
Episode 299: Season 14, Show 4
In an episode titled "The Strong Arms of the Ma", Marge gets mugged outside a market, then started to lift weights, and use steroids to get strong, which leads to various altercations. Here are some pictures from the episode, which originally aired February 2nd, 2003.
After being mugged at a market, Marge is scared to leave the house, and winds up living in the basement, where she finds a weight set that Homer bought at a garage sale of a famous ex-Austrian bodybuilder who lost all his money.
Marge starts working out and starts getting stronger, and regains her confidence. Eventually, she leaves the house, meets up with the mugger, and beats the crap out of him.
Marge goes down to Muscle Beach, and find a friend of hers who is a female bodybuilder. This friends of hers introduces her to the super juice.
Marge starts working out even more, and starts taking protein supplements, vitamins, and much, much more. She becomes super strong, and the ultimate female bodybuilder.
Marge enters a bodybuilding contest!
Marge and 19 others competitors compete for the big prize of the evening on stage.
Marge is so good that she wins 2nd place!
And then the good story turns bad. From there, Marge turns violent, and in a ugly scene at the bar, beats up lots of people, and gets 'roid rage. When Homer finally begs her to become 'normal', she goes back home and throws away the weights.
The story itself was pretty good until they showed the ugly side of steroids. However, this episode showed the good parts of bodybuilding and getting stronger, and the so-called steroid rage, the ugly side of bodybuilding. A little off the top, but then, this is a cartoon.

Stop swearing
your way through squats or worse, avoiding them all together!
The patented load
distribution device for the back squat exercise. Made from a
hi-tech polyurethane polymer, it is virtually indestructible.
Instead of the force concentrating in one small area, the Manta
Ray increases the surface area by more than 1600% finally making
it possible to focus on the movement. The front projections help
keep the bar from trying to roll off your back. This allows most
people use a more erect posture because it stops the bodies
tendency to bend the lifter forward in an attempt to take the
stress off the shoulders.

-
The Manta
Ray® was developed to improve or eliminate problems we had
with the squat exercise. We started by listing the things we
thought were the negative aspects (bullet points below). Then
worked for several years to address those issues with a small,
simple device that didn't take away any of the beneficial
aspects. Tens of thousands of happy Manta Ray® owners think
we accomplished our goal
-
Finding the
center of the bar on each set is no longer a problem. Once you
center and snap the Manta Ray to the bar you know your right
in the middle, every set!
-
Repairing
trauma from that shearing force crushing muscle and nerves
against bone is no longer wasting part of your bodies limited
ability to recuperate from a workout!
-
The bar no
longer rests on the deltoids, or pulls the arms back. This
eliminates much of the common squat related stress to the
shoulder complex (which houses the injury prone Rotator Cuff
Assembly)!
-
The MANTA
RAY takes away that shearing pain in your neck so you can
focus on the movement and watch your gains skyrocket!

Schwarzenegger Undergoes Surgery for 'T3' Injury
As reported by Reuters, it appears The Terminator isn't as indestructible as he used to be. Action star Arnold Schwarzenegger (news) was released on Thursday from a Santa Monica hospital where he underwent surgery to repair a shoulder injury suffered while performing a stunt on the set of his upcoming film "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines."

The 55-year-old actor tore the rotator cuff in his left shoulder last spring but put off surgery at the time to avoid holding up production on the film, according to a statement from his publicist. Schwarzenegger was admitted to St. John's Health Center for the operation on Wednesday and left the hospital "feeling great and in very good spirits," the statement said. Although he will have to keep his shoulder immobilized in a tight sling for the next three to four weeks, he plans to go ahead with previously scheduled appearances, including a multi-state tour of his Inner-City Games Foundation next week.
"I'm feeling great. I am very fortunate to have had such fantastic surgeons at St. John's work on my shoulder," the actor said in the statement. The Austrian-born former body-builder reportedly earned $30 million to reprise his role as the unstoppable, lead-slinging, man-machine from the future in "Terminator 3," which is due for release next July. It seems they don't make cyborgs like they used to. In December 2001, Schwarzenegger broke several ribs when he took a spill from his motorcycle.
